How the Wire works

Updated 11 Oct 2026, 00:04 EAT · 138 retained developments

Activity and evidence are separate

Committed describes money moved, a signed contract or a binding rule. Confirmed describes real activity supported by a primary source, without new money attached. Signal describes a statement, plan or pitch. These labels are not investment advice, confidence scores or forecasts.

Each stage is bound to the exact reviewed record. Changed or new evidence returns to Not assessed until reviewed. Primary-source status alone cannot turn an aspiration into a commitment. A press-reported transaction can be Committed while still lacking primary confirmation.

Counts and selection

Theme counts use every development in the complete retained archive. They do not claim all historical intake. Filters narrow results without changing theme totals. Multiple reports on one development remain one development, and source-report totals deduplicate report IDs.

What matters today selects two developments from the past seven days that are Committed, Confirmed or name a listed company. Source publication dates remain visible. Selection starts with the newest source date, then gives commitments precedence within that date. It does not assert economic magnitude where none is supplied.

Why the trend chart is withheld

The retained history has a concentrated intake burst near the end of the period. Collection changes can resemble a surge in economic activity. The streamgraph is withheld until a review establishes at least eight to ten comparable weeks, with consistent source coverage, themes and collection timing. The source records and evidence map remain available.

Limits and language

One report is not independent corroboration. Publisher concentration describes dependence on sources, not their quality. The Swahili interface labels untranslated summaries and analysis as English; original sources retain their language. A publication timestamp is distinct from an event date or the date KCP first collected it.

Evidence map

From evidence to the next verification

Select a development to see what is on record, how the Wire classifies it, who could be affected and what evidence would change the picture.

Selector shows 138 of 138 matching developments in current result order. The evidence list remains the complete result surface.
