Every figure KANZA CAPITAL PARTNERS publishes is sourced, dated, and reconciled to the record. This page sets out the source hierarchy behind the platform; the market data, official statistics and filings that power the tape, the Markets pages, company coverage, The Brief and the Ghost.

The source hierarchy

When sources disagree, the higher authority wins; when a figure cannot be verified against its authority, we publish nothing rather than guess. Null beats fabricated, always.

  1. Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange; the source of record for listed-company closes, index levels (DSEI, TSI and the sector indices) and market statistics. Our board, index series and market pages reconcile to the DSE’s published figures.
  2. Bank of Tanzania (bot.go.tz); the authority for the policy rate (CBR), official exchange rates, gold reference prices, government-securities auctions, reserves, monetary statistics and national payment-system transaction values and volumes.
  3. Company annual reports and audited financial statements; the basis for revenue, profit, EPS, dividends, margins and segment analysis on company pages and in subscriber briefs.
  4. Government statistical and sectoral bodies; the National Bureau of Statistics (inflation, GDP), the Mining Commission, EWURA, TCRA and ministry budget documents.
  5. Open-source news reporting; for corporate actions, policy developments and market context, always attributed.
  6. Specialist data partners; used to corroborate and enrich our research.

TCRA communications statistics

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority is the figure of record for the communications-sector indicators on the telecom Markets page. These include telephone connections, internet access subscriptions, data traffic, devices and operator subscription share.

Every TCRA observation is labelled by its full quarter-end date. TCRA fiscal-quarter numbering appears only in the report citation. KCP does not interpolate or carry a missing quarter forward.

Connections are subscriptions or active lines, not unique people or customers. Operator percentages are subscription share only. They are not revenue, ARPU, profit or unique-customer share. Where a report does not publish one comparable operator-share measure, the value remains unavailable.

National mobile-money transaction values and volumes remain under Bank of Tanzania authority. TCRA mobile-money series are not used as a competing headline record.

Freshness, honestly labelled

Market figures carry their as-at date and status; “verified close” or the session date; so you always know exactly what you are looking at. Data is manually captured and point-in-time; verify against the official source before relying on any figure for a transaction.

Attribution

Market data referenced on this platform remains the property of its respective source; the DSE, the Bank of Tanzania, and the reporting companies. Our analysis of it is our own.
