August 2026: Kenya inflation was 6.6%, versus 4.3% in Tanzania and 4.1% in Uganda
The three official national headline CPI records span 4.1% to 6.6% in August 2026, a 2.5 percentage-point gap. Rwanda's urban CPI is a different perimeter and is excluded.
The same observation month and annual headline CPI measure are used for Tanzania Mainland, Kenya and Uganda. National baskets and weights differ. Rwanda urban CPI is excluded. Rates describe price growth, not comparable price levels or household purchasing power.
