Opportunity Wire

Pangani Bridge advances, with opening still undated

Tanzania’s roads agency reports the Pangani project is 72% complete. That does not mean the bridge is open. Its 20 October report says foundations and nine piers are complete. The road surface above them is under construction; completion could reduce ferry reliance. An opening notice would establish when traffic can cross. The report gives no opening date or payment figures.

Coming up

The next tests, with timing stated

  1. Next verified DSE close

It can show whether higher trading continues and how its value is distributed across companies.

  2. Finalized Bank of Tanzania dollar record

It will test the provisional 21 October mean; customer rates and fees remain separate.

  3. Pangani Bridge opening and payment disclosures

They would distinguish construction progress from usable transport capacity and money paid.
