35-day bill yields rose as one-year yields fell

The 35-day yield moved from 2.52% to 3.54%, while the 364-day yield moved from 6.29% to 6.13% between the 2026-09-23 and 2026-10-21 auctions. The 364-day premium over 35 days moved from 3.77 to 2.59 percentage points.

Weighted-average Treasury-bill yields at BoT auctions, 2026-09-23 and 2026-10-21

Arrows show percentage-point changes from a common zero. Their lengths are scaled to the largest move among these four tenors; exact auction yields and changes are printed alongside. Each yield is a published Bank of Tanzania weighted average. The premium subtracts the 35-day yield from the 364-day yield on the same auction date; no intermediate auction values are inferred.

What changed

The 35-day yield moved from 2.52% to 3.54%, while the 364-day yield moved from 6.29% to 6.13% between the 2026-09-23 and 2026-10-21 auctions. The 364-day premium over 35 days moved from 3.77 to 2.59 percentage points.

Method and limits

Arrows show percentage-point changes from a common zero. Their lengths are scaled to the largest move among these four tenors; exact auction yields and changes are printed alongside. Each yield is a published Bank of Tanzania weighted average. The premium subtracts the 35-day yield from the 364-day yield on the same auction date; no intermediate auction values are inferred.
